Well, that says a lot. How can you ignore an offense when it is right there in your face? By being insightful. It says insightful people. What is an insightful person? One who understands and discerns. There have been so many times where I was not understanding. Where I have the wrong idea about what someone said or done. They could be dealing with all types of challenges. There could be health challenges, financial crisis, relationship issues, and personal hang-ups. When we go to God and ask Him to give us His perspective, then we can see things in a different way.
I am the type that would be overly sensitive. I realized this a long time ago. I didn’t want to wear my feelings on my sleeves as the saying goes. I thank the Lord for changing me. I learned not be so touchy and just be more light-hearted. It has worked for me and helped my relationships with people. Lots of times people don’t even know they offended you. But then God can just help you to overlook their faults. I also think how have I possibly offended someone. It aids in being more aware of what you say and do. The way in which you treat people.
We all want to be successful in our relationships. We are commanded to love one another. Love overlooks faults and forgives offenses. We have to choose to do these things. Isn’t that what God does for us?
Purity of heart
Holding it rain
Of emotional ire
Pushing against the pain
Captive by the peace
Understanding is to gain
