Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

I remember God giving me this scripture when I was in my teen years. I was having issues with a family member. We just did not get along. I wanted our relationship to be better than it was. I sought the Lord and He gave this verse to me. It has stayed with me all these years. When this person and I crossed paths again, yep, you guessed it, we were starting to get into an argument. In the middle of the turmoil, that verse came to my mind. Before I responded again, I gave a soft answer and it tempered everything. It was hard to do because everything within my flesh wanted to scream out. But I did what the word said and it changed the whole conversation. Whatever was trying to get stirred up was never cooked. I am thankful to God for bringing the word back to my mind. His word works period. We can always and I mean always stand firm on it.

The effect of softness

Atmospheric euphoria

Cemented in the brains

Of my distant friend

Turning to come together

Snuffed out by the light

That champions

The cold, stony heart
