Nehemiah 8:10b for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

These past few days were rough for me. I had some challenges at work. I felt so defeated. I felt attacked. The attack was so bad that at one point, I started to have a reaction. My hands were trembling and my heart was pounding. I had so much stress. When I took time to talk things over with God about all that was going on He helped me through it. I allowed fear to overtake me. I allowed the devil to steal my joy. God told me first to calm down. Then He reassured me everything would be alright. Of course, it was and I felt the weight of that stress lift from me.

Every time I went to God in prayer, I had a sense that everything would be alright. I felt a sense of calm. I had a knowing that all is well. That is what God does. He helps to get rid of all the stress.

We have to choose joy. We have to embrace joy at the start of the day. We have to proclaim joy. The joy of the Lord is out strength. If we are zapped of our joy, then we become weak. If we are weak, then we become vulnerable. If we are vulnerable, then we become an easy target for an attack. That attack can make us become overtaken. It is vital to know how to remain in joy to remain strong in the Lord.

A slight alteration

Can make the course wobbly

As I look to you

My feet are steadied

My course is set and straight

No panic tremors

My heart is at rest
