Deuteronomy 5:2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.

God made the children of Israel a covenant. He made an agreement, a promise, a contract with His people. He not only made it with them but with us as well. It was a covenant for all generations. It was His 10 commandments and those commandments are still true today. God is the same God that He was back then, now and forever. When He gives His word, it is a bond that lasts and lasts and lasts. He doesn’t go back on His word. God is always looking for us to acknowledge Him. He is intimately involved in our lives.

He gave those commandments to let us see how much we need Him. Believe or not we do need Him. We need Him every day and every night. That covenant made in a place where God resided in the mountain of Sinai. He led His people there to come to a treaty. God wrote His laws on a couple of tablets or stone and now He is writing His laws on our heart. Once we come to Him and agree, the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth. The Spirit of truth will give us the word of God the written word and the living word.

A promise for the ages

Between the Almighty and His creation

We are bonded together in love

Powerful union that cannot be broken

As we tie ourselves to His garments

Praise ringing from our lips

Communion like none other

Spirit filled and Spirit led

Pursuit of relentless joy
